Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there. We send you lots of hugs and wishes for a great day.

I have decided that I would like to spend the day seeing the babies, going out to lunch and then lazing around watching old movies on the couch. I'm not gonna lie, I am pretty bummed about not having Blake and Jenna home on my first Mother's Day BUT I can't wait to hold them and enjoy the day nevertheless. I have so much to celebrate today. Waiting to become a mom was such a long journey and now that my dream has come true (and has doubled!) I couldn't be prouder of my lil miracles or happier to be their mom.

Lastnight when we arrived at the hospital, Jenna was sleeping and Blake was out being social with one of the nurses. She said he was laying there crying and she couldn't bear to hear him cry so she scooped him up for some social time. His night nurse, Janet, was busy feeding another baby. We are so thankful to have so many great nurses look after them. I happily took Blake from her and held him for a while while he looked up at me as if to say, "Did you hear me calling for you?" I wish I could be there every moment that they are awake and looking around for some social interaction. I do take comfort though that it is very common that when they are up and when we aren't there, they are usually being carried and talked to by one of several nurses.

Blake weighed in at 7 pounds 9 ounces-YAY! We love to see that weight gain. This is one thing that is going to determine when he will be able to have the sleep study and get discharged. Unfortunately, Blake had a small Brady the night before. He recovered on his own but this has to be recorded and will push his possible discharge date back at least 5 days. Jenna was taken off of cannula lastnight and is doing great. She is doing well on her theophlin. Her blood pressure has still been teetering on the high side so she has been started on the same blood pressure meds Blake is on. she weighed in at 7 pounds, 11 ounces!

Okay, we are having some issues with running out of disc space for uploading pics. This may take a bit to resolve. I am attempting to post new pics now. I will also tell Jason he needs to post the incident I referred to a few days back.
