"Mom's take on Monday"

Hi all~
Jason has provided the changes for the day but I wanted to add a couple things since we've gotten back from our night visit.

I am so excited that Blake is being swaddled now. He looks so much like I imagined our baby boy might. He is even wearing an adorable onesie that his day nurse, April dressed him in. She had him all dressed, swaddled and waiting for us to see him being a "big boy". I can't wait to find out how much Jenna weighs tonight and if she has reached the 3 lb mark yet. Then, I'll know that her time to start being swaddled and wearing micro preemie clothes is right around the corner. We swaddled them during our afternoon visit. It was nice to look down at them and watch them sleep. I held Blake today and he opened his eyes for a short time. Both Jenna and Blake seemed to like being all bundled up. While it was very nice to hold them this way, Jason and I decided that we will do skin to skin kangaroo time from now on. The benefits of skin contact are fantastic for their growth and strength so that's just what we will do. Both seem to be more active. They look at us when we talk to them which has got to be the best thing in the world right now. When I am talking to Blake or Jenna and they are looking right in my direction, it is as if the world around me is put on pause and the only thing going on is the communication between me and my baby. Truly amazing!!

I did something today that I never imagined doing. I went looking for doll clothes today for my babies! I went to Build A Bear today looking for clothes that may fit Blake and Jenna. The last time I looked for doll clothes, I must have been about eight years old. Now I have real life "baby dolls" (but, oh, so much more adorable). Anyways, there were a few things that may fit in a few weeks but everything is still too big right now. Imagine that, clothes that are put on stuffed animals do not fit Blake or Jenna. I also went to Baby Bugaloo and bought some "NICU" friendly things for them. Guess I'll be revisiting the micro preemie clothing websites or maybe try my hand at sewing a few things.

Today has been yet another truly memorable day. I agree with Jason, I certainly do not ever want to forget the special moments that we are experiencing now with our children.
